3.6x10mm Axial Leaded Time Delay Glass Tube Fuse 100mA-24A 250V With UL CUL
Principle of Operation
A glass tube fuse works by breaking the circuit when rated current passes through it. When the current passing through the fuse exceeds the rated current, the thin ally wire melts and breaks the circuit.
The glass tube fuses commonly manufactured in different types:
Fast Blow
Slow blow
Glass tube fuse does not contain any gas AFAIK. The glass tube protects the outside environment when the metal inside melts as high temperature can build up. Glass being transparent, helps to visually inspect the fuse to make sure if it is blown. Protection would be better if match with fuse holder to provide second protection bewteen fuse and board.
